Spring / Summer 14 Preview

This is just a small taster of what is in store for Starburst Boutique this Spring / Summer

This is just a tiny , tiny hint of what is yet to come in. I haven't really covered the the beautiful drops from East by East West ( delicate wispy tulle, sharp linen tunic tops in navy and white and pretty broderie anglaise) Marilyn Moore ( ditsy Liberty prints, warm coral cashmere and the most stand out ribbon coat ever) Tropical knits in linen and silk from Cash Ca ( plus a divine cashmere pleat back sweater in lightest pink) plus all the classic stripes from Armor Lux and Petit Bateau. Plus most exciting of all the first RTW collections for Pazuki! Keep tuned. As soon as it drops it will be on here. Get saving or in a lot of ladies cases saving those Christmas gift vouchers.

Well done to Pyrus and MIH Jeans who had some fantastic press in Grazia this week. The beautiful Pyrus jacket will be coming into Starburst in the next few weeks

An Early John Galliano Show - I think she is taking on the role of an escaped bride from Eastern Europe with gems stashed in her corset. Her huge skirt contained telephone wire to make it move and bounce

The most super`s of the supers turned 40 yesterday, here are just a few pictures celebrating her style. Personally I love her early years 1996 -2000 around the time she was with JD and also her collaborations with John Galliano which seemed to accumulate in a recent edition of Vogue.

Spring Covers - Harpers Bazzar

This has to be the best Spring cover so far. Keira Knightley clad in Chanel for the February edition of  Harpers Bazaar.  The magazine seems to be going from strength to strength under the editorship of Justine Picardie.

This Week I am Loving...All Things Rose..

 I cant wait to get my hands on Rose de Bormans Elle deco nominated fabric for Virginia White. Hardest decision? what colour to go for...

And of the subject of all things rose I am still loving rose hued interiors although I think they can be very tricky to pull off. Having said that I am contemplating covering an old sofa in a hot pink linen and think the above fabric would look lovely on an ottoman or made into over-sized cushions possibly with a hot hued velvet on the back

And Hamish Bowles chic rose hued NY apartment is always a winner. The man is a god. I got introduced to him once on a shoot and was literally speechless.  Totally starstruck. They say never meet your heros but I am glad i did as he was amazing. I was on a high for weeks. I might have to do a post all on Hamish soon.

And if I had a fantasy budget I would order these pink Yves Piaget roses from The Real Flower Company for my fantasy De Gournay  clad uber chic and luxurious bedroom...every week!!! oohhhh lottery lifestyle!

Back down to earth and to help banish January blues I highly recommend the rose face wash and bath oil by Ren available from the Cove in Dartmouth. We are lucky to have access to some cool skincare down here although it would be really  handy if someone stocked By Terry and Kevyn Aucoin make up.  At the moment I have to get my fix via Space NK online

And not to forget fashion I think this thick duchess satin rose coloured skirt is bliss especially worn with leopard , stripes and denim and lets not forget all the rose hued linen and  Cash Ca cashmere we have coming in for SS 14
